Includes selections from The Sketch Book, Bracebridge Hall, Tales of a Traveller, The Alhambra, Wolfert's Roost and Other Papers, and A History of New York. BINDING/CONDITION: blue cloth with rd and gilt; the top edge tint is light red; owner's name on the title page, otherwise a Very Good book, with a Good dust jacket; publisher's price on the jacket flap is intact. Edited with an introduction by Saxe Commins. xix, 669, [6 ads] pp. Binding with a small modest stain near the crown and a bit of soil in on corner of the front cover, topstain with some spotting, very good or better. Nicely Inscribed by Commins on the verso of the front fly: "To my good friend and colleague Huntington Caines[?] from the Headless Editor Saxe Commins Oct. 30, 1945." Commins was an editor at Random House from 1933 to 1957 and worked with some of the 20th Century's great authors, including Auden, Faulkner, Dineson, Eugene O'Neill, Sinclair Lewis, and Theodore Dreiser.
