Large "ex-libris" bookplate on front pastedown stating that the book was courtesy of Brown's House of Books and Red Holmes Fast Car Wash of Amarillo, Texas at the Vic Mon Motor Hotel; no other institutional markings present. Light soiling and toning to endpapers; interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. Uncommon first novel by Georgia author who wrote three others: WALK EGYPT (Viking, 1960), I RESIGN YOU, STALLION (Viking, 1965), and GREENBONES (Viking, 1967).
