Presumed first edition (no direct edition/printing statement provided; single date "November 1931" upon copyright page). xii, 202 pages. Hardcover: H 21.75cm x L 14.5cm. No dust jacket (i.e. lacking). Red cloth; bright gilt stamping to spine; short closed tear near spine heel; slight soiling to rear board. Light toning to endpapers; personal sextant-themed bookplate of St. Louis physician, naval historian, and author E. Lee Dorsett (Edward Lee Dorsett, 1883-1967) on front pastedown; two clippings affixed to front free endpaper; interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding retains some crispness. Still a handsome book.
