Complete two volumes within single book. Paged as [6], i-v, [1], v-x, 1-499, [7], 1-482, [6]. Hardcover; H 19.25cm x L 13.75cm. Original dark brown cloth, beveled board edges, gilt stamping upon front board and spine remains bright. Light mottling along front board's top edge and fore-edge; slight wear to both boards' corners, slight bumping ant scuffing at spine ends with patches of mottling near center. Edges toned. Binding actually retains some crispness. Mild foxing upon several preliminary leaves but interior pages remain quite clean. Each volume has frontispiece portrait with Vol. I's frontis retaining guard sheet. Six pages of publisher advertisements at rear. An attractive very good copy. No publishing or copyright year is provided but OCLC proffers 1872.
