This is a nice clean, ti…ght and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates (there is a very slight crease to the spine toward the top edge which is not particularly objectionable). The slipcase is also in nice condition with no tears or splits (there is a little sunning to the top portion of one side). The Heritage Press imprint indicates that it was published in 1970; however, the Norwalk place of publication means that it was published sometime between 1976 and 1983. ; B&W Illustrations; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 294 pages. This book is beautifully bound in a full brown leather binding with 22 kt gold spine and cover decorations. The spine has four raised bands with five decorated compartments. The end papers are…silk moire, and there is also a silk ribbon bookmark. Printed on acid-free paper. Please Note that there is whitish spotting to the top gilt edge and to about 1" of the front gilt edge--it is not clear to me what caused this. Other than this issue this is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings and no signs of wear; there are no ownership names or bookplates. This book appears to have been unread. This book would make a wonderful addition to any library and looks great on a shelf.; 100 Greatest Books Ever Written Series; B&W Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 170 pages.
