The inset illustrations are excellent, mainly by Rerat; those for Une Ville are engraved by Pannemaker and those for les Forceurs are engraved by Hildibrand. Text is in French. Estimated date only. Illustrated throughout with black and white engravings by Jules Férat and Charles Barbant. A very good copy, the binding firm, the extremities with light wear, the spine a touch faded, slight crack…ing to the internal page hinges. There is a school prize plate on the front free endpaper, light spotting to the text block edge, a few fingermarks throughout, and without the plain tissue-guard from the frontispiece.
