Number 191 of 1,146 numbered copies, signed by Benton. Steinbeck's Pulitzer Prize winning novel of the Great Depression first appeared only the year before this Limited Editions Club edition, which remains notable for the beautiful lithographs commissioned from Benton, the smaller than usual printing, and the unusual and fitting rawhide and grasscloth binding.
