Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 11-5/8-inch (29.5 cm.) horizontal octavo. A tiny bit of foxing to the endpapers. "Corrected to May 1979" with 1979 being the publication date. Includes Deauville. Maps in blue-and-white, with red and yellow added to aid depiction of buoys and traffic signs. "Correctional Supplement No. 2" (an errata slip) dated October 1981, and reporting silting of the entrance channel at Deauville, laid in. It is advised that the run upriver to Rouen be made without stopping, using an engine which can maintain 5 knots for 10 hours. Given "the tortuous course of the river, the hills and trees blanketing the wind, the proximity to shipping and the fierce tides," SAILING the lower river "is not only difficult but dangerous unless one has local knowledge." You also need to carry your own petrol, lashed on deck, as local supplies along this stretch are scanty, the authors advise. 54 pp. including Index. Now dated by some 45 years, of course -- local conditions may have changed. Reduced from $30.
