Based on interviews, diaries and letters, published and unpublished, this book attempts to recreate the lives of ordinary people in the summer of 1939 and specifically the month leading up to the outbreak of war on the third of September. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.
