    Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. Early edition, dated 1880 on the title page. Ornate gold imagery, gold titles with deckled text block on green cloth binding. Full title: "An Introduction to the Knowledge Necessary for Forming A Collection of Ancient Prints by J. Maberly". Front and rear inner hinges are split and the book is shaken, all prints and pages remain intact. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. There is a handwritten number and Mercantile Library stamp on the title page and some of the internal pages. There are no other indications of the library's ownership. International shipping may require added postage charges.

In 336 pages, lavishly illustrated throughout with small steel engravings opening each chapter, + a frontispiece + 7 internal plates, this small quarto (7.0" x 9.5") is bound in deep green cloth over boards with bright gilt design to front/gilt lettering to spine. Condition is VG+: extremely clean, sewn binding strong & secure, hinges intact, pages creamy white with age-appropriate tanning, a bit heavier around edges, but completely unmarked. Modest rubbing to extremities, slight pushing to lower spine, mild bumping to all corners. No DJ, as issued.
