Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. HOW TO MAKE CLIPPER SHIP MODELS BY EDWARD W. HOBBS 206 FIGURES DJ. Please find for your consideration a lovely little hard cover book titled: "How to Make Clipper Ship Models," by Edward W. Hobbs. The sub-title gives you an even more exact statement of what this book portends, to wit: "A Practical Manual dealing with every aspect of Clipper Ship Modeling from the Simplest Waterline Types to Fine Scale Models fit for Exhibition purposes." This small hard cover book (6 x 8 ĵ inches, 215 pages) was published by Brown, Son & Ferguson Ltd. of Glasgow, dated 1960 and a reprint edition. The book is bound in finely ribbed dark blue cloth with prominent gilt titles on cover and spine; it is protected by a handsome printed paper dust jacket, itself encased in a mylar sheath. Please see the photo of the Table of Contents for your further information. The book is very well illustrated with many b&w photos of clipped ship models, steps in their fabrication, detailed drawings of other steps and a series of fold-out diagrams and blue-prints, 206 Figures in all. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The mylar sheath has protected the slightly worn dust wrapper well albeit not before someone managed to leave a cup or bottle in the middle which left a stain (and which penetrated to the hard covers as well). The dark blue hard covers are very nice and presentable except for the cup mark in the middle. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and plates are clean and bright throughout. Plate 11 is slightly mis-folded and one of the edges protrudes above the page edges (now corrected). Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
