Antonin Sirucek patri k vyraznym osobnostem vytvarneho zivota mesta Brna a jeho dilo predstavuje tez nezanedbatelny vklad ceskemu umeni druhe poloviny dvacateho stoleti. Narodil se 31. ledna 1913 v Travniku (dnes Kladoruby) u Letovic jako prvni syn v rolnicke rodine a podle tehdejsich zvyklosti mel prevzit starost o hospodarstvi. Socharsky talent, ktery jinoch projevil pomerne zahy, vsak jeho zivotni drahu zmenil. V letech 1933 az 1935 vystudoval Odbornou keramickou skolu v Praze a hned po jejim absolutoriu byl prijat na prazskou Akademii vytvarnych umeni do socharskeho atelieru profesora Bohumila Kafky, predni osobnosti ceskeho novodobeho socharstvi. Dilo Antonina Sirucka se vyznacuje jednotou v rozmanitosti. Vysel z tradice novodobeho socharstvi, ale jeho touha objevovat nove obzory jej vedla k modernimu ztvarneni ruznych podnetu i k volbe nejen socharskych, ale i kreslirskych a malirskych prostredku. Jednoticim cinitelem jeho tvurciho snazeni bylo humanisticke kredo. To se promitlo v dominantnim miste, ktere v tematickem repertoaru jeho soch a obrazu prislusi tematum milencu, materstvi a rodiny. Posedlosti nalezt vytvarne ucinny ekvivalent soucasneho zivota zaujal Siruckuv odkaz v ceskem umeni druhe poloviny dvacateho stoleti nezanedbatelne misto.
