Publisher's remainder stamp to bottom page edges. Heavy toning to pages, a common flaw with this edition. Binding strong. Moderate wear. Jacket now in fresh Mylar. Trade editions of this title are rare and hard to find - the book club edition is generally easier to find. Overall a solid copy with several noticeable flaws. First edition, released first as a Science Fiction Book Club edition, of this incredible sourcebook for the Dune Series, replete with information on the people, places, history, geography, ecology, customs, and much more. This will not be reprinted again, as the estate of Frank Herbert, will not extend permission as Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson continue to write and issue the Dune Prequel Series.

The jacket has some lightish chipping at the top of the spine, some light edge wear with some light rubbing wear. A gift quality example of a book that that is virtually impossible to find in any condition or edition. In all of the 40+ years that I have been doing this only the 4th hard cover of this title that i have ever run across.
