First edition of this informative, and lavishly illustrated sales and merchandising manual for ice cream and frozen dairy products in the Mid-20th-Century, following World War II. Sponsored by the International Association of Ice Cream Manufacturers, Hennerich emphasized sales ad campaigns and encouraged training of soda fountain employees using filmstrip/cartoon strip format, with sample training scripts. He also emphasized local markets, the importance of competent management, and improved sales techniques. Over half the book is devoted to the best recipes for ice cream sodas, sundaes, banana splits, freezes, floats, shakes, and more. Of particular interest are specific instructions on post-War upgrading with Mid-Century Modern counters, lettering, window displays, lighting, cost controls and adding air conditioning.
