Dr. Hendry has been Director, MSc Course in Radiation Biology, Gray Institute for Radiation Oncology and Biology, University of Oxford, UK (2008-10); Radiation Biologist (2002-07) and Head (2005-07) of the Section of Applied Radiation Biology and Radiotherapy, Division of Human Health, Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications, IAEA, Vienna; Head for 25 years of the Radiobiology Department, later the Section of Genome Damage & Repair, and then the Experimental Radiation Oncology Group, at the Paterson Institute for Cancer Research, Christie Hospital, Manchester, UK (to 2002).
