Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. First Edition. Translation of the Afrikaans pastoral novella "Somer" by C.M. van den Heever. Somer has been translated into several language. Prof Haarhof rendered it here into English, and as may be expected from an author so well-versed in interpretation of the Classics,… his translation is remarkable for its beautiful, flowing poetic language. The translator has captured the spirit of the original in the English idio and to many who must have read the Afrikaans book, this version will be a revelation. Previous owner's name neatly inked on flyleaf. The book was printed on rough paper typical of wartime contingency publising that prevailed at the time. ------------ Orders over $100.00 are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
