The front cove has a pale glass ring on it. A sound copy with secure inner hinges. Foxing on the endpapers. Most of the text is clean, but there is some foxing opposite of a few (not most) of the illustrations. Illustrated throughout.

Author's flamboyant inscription and signature to ffep and smart bookplate of recipient pasted to fep. Boards bumped rubbed and worn with some staining. Spine fadedwith short tears beginning to fray at top and bottom. Short tear to base of feps. Textblock and illustrations clean and tight with some light foxing to edges.

First edition hard back binding in publisher's original full deep navy morocco binding with gilt title lettering to the spine, both boards with gilt ruled border, top edge gilt. 4to 11¼'' x 9''. Contains 222 printed pages of text with 8 colour plates and a collection of over 270 monochrome images by Baron Sterling Nahum, the official photographer for Sadler's Wells Ballet, London, and court photographer to the British Royal Family. Fox spotting to the end leaves, minor rubbing to the corners and in Very Good condition. Hand written in black ink opposite the half-title page 'This volume is number 18 of an edition limited to 50 copies specially bound for the author' and SIGNED 'Baron'. The Limited Edition of 150 copies is normally available within the trade, however, this specially bound copy rarely comes onto the open market, having been produced solely for family members and close friends of the author.
