Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. The sole UK printing of this illustrated edition published by the Golden Cockerel Press, UK in 1952. Number '9' of 60 special copies (overall edition limited to 360 copies). The BOOK is in near Fine condition, bound in full grey-green/pink morocco by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, as issued. With an extra suite of the 8 aquatint plates loosely tucked into an envelope at the rear, including one extra (9 in total), which was not printed in the book. Signed at the colophon by both Buckland Wright and the author. Very light toning to the morocco spine and to the outer edges of the endpapers, otherwise near fine internally and externally. All tissue guards present and a small neat previous owner's bookplate to the upper front pastedown. Housed in the publisher's original cloth slipcase, which has minor splits and some slight loss to the cloth at corners. A very handsome production and scarce as the special edition.
