This elegant limited edition presents over 100 of Hardy's finest verses, exclusively selected for The Folio Society and superbly introduced by renowned nature writer, Robert Macfarlane. It features over 30 haunting illustrations created by award-winning artist, Stanley Donwood, who is best known for his work with Radiohead and Glastonbury Festival but is also internationally acclaimed for his large screen prints and art installations. Each copy is numbered by hand and signed by both anthologist and illustrator. Macfarlane's selection includes 109 poems from 1898-1928, from 'Wessex Poems' to 'Winter Words'. The book is bodoniana-bound with a red goatskin leather spine blocked in white foil, and boards covered in Iris cloth and printed with a design by the artist. Frontispiece and 16 full-colour full-page illustrations plus 16 vignettes by Stanley Donwood. Limitation page printed letterpress and tipped on by hand. 224 pages. Green ribbon marker. Book size 10" x 7¼". Hand-made slipcase covered in green Iris cloth, blind-blocked with a design by the artist.
