The result is virtually a journal of the war period and contains the reflections of one of the acutest minds in England during this period. Oliver was associated with members of Lloyd George's War Cabinet. Contains details of a fortnight in France, partly with Sir Hubert Gough during the battle of Passchendaele & a sketch of Earl Haig.
