Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Library stamps and inserts present. Boards have noticeable shelf wear with rubbing and corner bumping. Moderate tanning and marking.

Sun-faded spine, rubbed corners and spine ends, some wear to boards. Text block edges starting to tan. Free endpapers starting to fox, pages just starting to age. Otherwise internally neat, clean and tight. Henry Fourdrinier (1766-1854) was a paper-making entrepreneur. He and his brother, Seely, commissioned the first machine capable of making continous rolls of paper. Revolutionising paper-making, it became known as the Fourdrinier Machine.
