First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 192 pages with diagrams, photograph and illustrations. Octavo (9" x 6") bound in original publisher's pictorial wrappers. First edition. The Richter Veresov Attack (or Veresov Opening) is a chess opening that begins with the moves: 1. d4 d5 2. Nc3 Nf6 3. Bg5 It is also often reached by transposition, for example 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nc3 d5 3.Bg5 (the most common move order), 1.d4 Nf6 2.Bg5 d5 3.Nc3, or 1.Nc3 Nf6 2.d4 d5 3.Bg5. The opening was named after the German International Master Kurt Richter and later the Soviet master Gavriil Veresov, who played it frequently for over a quarter of a century. Along with the Trompowsky Attack, Colle System, London System, and Torre Attack, the Richter Veresov Attack is one of the more common branches of the Queen's Pawn Game. The Richter Veresov Attack looks like the more popular Ruy Lopez opening mirrored on the queenside, but the dynamics of play are quite different. Condition: Edge wear with bumped corners else very good.

8° , kart. Condition: Gut. 160 S., lll. Gebraucht: guter und sauberer Zustand. Covers all lines other than the Rauzer; For club and tournament players; The Dragon has attracted World Champions Garry Kasparov and Mikhail Botvinnik; In this second part of their detailed work on the Dragon Sicilian, the authors present coverage, to date, of all lines other than the Rauzer, which is dealt with in Volume One. These lines range from an unhurried "Classical" development of pieces to the early pawn rush f4 and e5 seen in the "Levenfish Variation". Here, compared to the Rauzer, there is a greater concentration of play in the centre of the board where Black is ready to fight his opponent blow for blow. On the other hand, if need be, Black can react to any kingside offensive with a counterattack on the other wing, making full use of the open c-file for his rook and the long h8-a1 diagonal for his mighty Dragon bishop. Whether playing the White or Black side, no competitive player - at club or tournament level - can afford to be without this book. Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 212.
