First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Very scarce. Auction by Guernsey's of Forrest Ackerman's collection of science fiction and horror. Catalog given to patrons of this 1987 auction which took place at the famed Puck Museum. In fact, this catalog was the only way to get admitted to the auction (it admitted two people). Ackerman's collection was legendaryan estimated 300,000 items, housed in his "Ackermansion." Often dubbed "Mr. Sci-Fi," Forrest J. Ackerman (19162008) was a central figure in fandom: editor of Famous Monsters of Filmland, early literary agent for genre writers, and one of the most dedicated collectors of speculative fiction and horror memorabilia. Some slight shelf wear to the cover, but the interior is pristine. Overall, VERY GOOD condition! BR (Shelf 138).
