Un'indagine su un enigma - quello della creazione ex nihilo - e una meditazione sull'origine di tutte le cose. Guercio prende le mosse dal lavoro più emblematico e controverso dell'artista, la Seconda soluzione d'immortalità (l'universo è immobile), esposto nel 1972 alla Biennale di Venezia in una sala che è la summa delle riflessioni di De Dominicis e che viene subito chiusa al pubblico per lo scalpore che desta. Motivo dello scandalo è la presenza di un giovane veneziano affetto dalla sindrome di Down. Posto davanti a tre oggetti sul pavimento - una pietra, una palla di gomma e il perimetro di un quadrato bianco - Paolo Rosa non rappresenta una mera provocazione come pensano i più reazionari (di destra e di sinistra), ma è il fulcro attorno al quale si dispongono gli altri elementi, la chiave di tutto l'insieme. Grazie alle molteplici dinamiche che questa figura innesca, l'artista conferisce all'opera una facoltà senza precedenti: aprire una breccia nell'eternità. Libro.
