Offered is a first edition, first printing, of "Ville-Marie: Joyau De L'Histoire Coloniale 1642-1942" by Abbe Lionel Groulx and published in 1940 by Editions Du Devoir out of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Published as "No. 1 Collection Du Troisieme Centenaire" - the text is from "Conference prononcee le 7 decembre 1939, a l'Academie Querbes d'Outremont, sous les auspices du Cercle Saint-Viateur." A stapled pamphlet measuring 4-3/4" by 7-1/2" and containing 24 internal pages. Lionel-Adolphe Groulx (1878-1967) was the noted Roman Catholic priest, historian, and Quebec nationalist. Staples lightly rusted; the outer overhang covers show a few small edge and corner chips.
