Hardcover. Condition: New. *** FREE UPGRADE to Courier/Priority Shipping Upon Request *** - *** IN STOCK AND IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE FOR SHIPMENT - Flawless copy, brand new, pristine, never opened -- Text in German and English. 128 pp. ; 40 color illustrations. -- with a bonus offer--; In October 2010, Jenny Holzer (born 1950) lau…nched an ambitious public artwork in the city of Frankfurt. From the night of October 4 onward, Holzer projected a series of scrolling text works onto six public buildings in the city: the Alte Nikolaikirche, the Rà mer, the Dreikà nigskirche, the Literaturhaus, St. Katharinenkirche and Portikus. All of the texts related to either the city itself or to the history of German Protestantism, and were drawn from the works of philosophers and writers such as Wislawa Szymborska, Theodor Adorno, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Martin Buber, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Sà ren Kierkegaard, Martin Luther, Friedrich Schleiermacher and Paul Tillich. This volume records the commission, showing how Holzer's (unusually lengthy) excerpts, set in heavy, sans-serif caps, dramatized Germany's intellectual and literary heritage.
