Brochure produced for the tourist trade. 16 pp. in original self-covers meant to be folded vertically, with b&w photograph "Early Spring in the New England Hills' showing women at a stream, on front. Text in numbered columns, 36 in total. Includes numerous photographs and short descriptions of New Hampshire, Maine, coloured and b&w fold-out maps (the latter showing route from U.S. and through Quebec), in centre, list of boarding houses and hotels along route, and list of railway executives (all but one in Montreal). Corporate/publisher name derived from library catalogue records. Printed by Poole Bros., Chicago. Date of publication uncertain but front of brochure is stamped "Ontario Historical Society 1902 Toronto". Upper edge of cover foxed and with two rust marks, light wear along fold line, staples rusted with rust transferred onto adjoining page. A scarce and interesting travel guide. Ephemera.

Map measures 16" X 15.75". near fine A scarce piece of Ontario, Grand Trunk Railway and Pan-American Exposition ephemera in an excellent state of preservation. Illustrated throughout with photographs of Ontario and the adjacent areas of Buffalo, New York with text on activities in the area. The Pan-American Exposition was a World's Fair in Buffalo, NY in 1901.

Covers depict a rustic fishing scene at Stony Brook, near South Paris, Maine. The Grand Trunk Railway provides information on towns in New Hampshire, but mostly in Maine. The 6 panel map is a color topographical map of the mountains of New England and the sea, with the route of the Grand Trunk Railway beginning at Portland, Maine at the Atlantic Ocean and traversing across to Montreal and Quebec. Also provided is a 6 panel listing of hotels and boarding houses that provide accommodations in Maine, New Hampshire, and Montreal. Light wear to the fore-edges, a few margins lightly soiled, else a very good copy.

Map of the northeastern United States and south central Canada (southern Ontario and Quebec) highlighting the lines of the Grand Trunk railroad system from Chicago to Portland, Maine and through northern New England. Index of towns on verso. An interesting map which folds down to a small booklet which would fit in virtually any pocket.
