First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: Fine. First Edition. There are four articles in this issue, but of particular interest is Marshall McKusick's "Major William Williams at Iowa Lake in 1862." (pp569-582) "William Williams was a vigorous man of sixty-four years at the time he commanded the Northern Boarder Brigade company at Iowa Lake. A unique series of ten unpublished letters to his family and friends describe the hardships, frustrations, and difficulties at the fort during the fall and winter of 1862." The Northern Boarder Brigade was one of the units that defended against the Indian uprising. A good article! A fine copy and a nice edition to anyone building a collection on the Sioux Uprising in 1862.
