Condition: Good. New edition. 634 pages. Pictorial dust jacket over pictorial cloth. Black and white illustration plates by John Leech. Colour frontispiece. Pages remain bright and clean with minimal tanning and foxing. Binding loose. Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. Unclipped jacket has heavy edge wear with tears, chipping and creasing. All surfaces heavily tanned, particularly spine.

Twenty coloured etchings and two hundred woodcuts. Original publisher's cloth, somewhat rubbed with chipping to the spine. The contents are shaken with a few loose pages and the frontispiece is also loose. Front hinge split but just holding. Bookplate inside the front cover dated 1874. A fair example.

Condition: Fair. No edition stated (hardback). 8vo (22cm by 14cm), 339pp, iii [index]. 220 illustrations by John Leech. Later binding of plain red cloth, with the original printed wrappers bound in. There is some waterstaining of the boards, the endpapers are foxed, and there is an ownership inscription (dated 1891); overall, this book is just about in good condition.
