Octavo softcover (VG-): all our specials have minimal description to keep listing them viable. They are at least reading copies, complete and in reasonable condition, but usually secondhand; frequently they are superior examples. Ordering more than one book will reduce your overall postage costs.

Original Red Cloth Boards. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First UK Edition. 1962. First UK edition (the first French edition was published in 1948). 160pp. Georges Joseph Christian Simenon (1903-1989) is best known for his works featuring the fictional detective Jules Maigret, but apart from his detectiv…e fiction he also achieved critical acclaim for his literary novels. In Pedigree he presents a fictionalised account of his childhood in Liège, Belgium, from the start of the twentieth century to the end of World War I. The book is bound in the original brick-red boards with silver titling to the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with light bumping to the top of the spine. The contents are tight and clean with the outline of tape stains on the corners of the free endpapers, probably where a previous owner had attached a cover for the dustwrapper. There is no inscription. The unclipped dustwrapper is very good with light shelf wear. The corners are rubbed with small nicks and the top of the spine is lightly bumped.
