    Fabric. Condition: Fair to Good. No Jacket. Not Credited (illustrator). 1st. Grey fabric board covers with gilt and dark grey titles to spine. Undated but c1934. Covers slight edge wear but badly sunned giving an impression of grubbines. Library lettering to spine. 242 pages including indexand a number of period b/w photos. Library sticker to fep and stamp to title page unusually the Derby Railway Library. Remains of d/w stuck to inside of back cover. Pages evenly tanned and with large type makes a pleasant read. Binding not tight but nothing loose.

    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Oversized hardcover. Bound of light blue cloth over boards with black lettering on spine. Covers are lightly rubbed at crown and foot of spine, with minor wear and some spotting along edges. Binding is tight and secure. Pages are clean with uniform toning, lightly spotted on edges. 26 B&W illustrations, including frontispiece. No date on title page or copyright page. Previous owner's name written on front free endpaper. A nice copy. This volume comes from the Broadcasting collection of Prof. Chris Sterling. Sterling was a professor of media and public affairs at George Washington University and an avid book collector.
