Limited edition of 300 copies, of which this is No. 20. James and Cecil Johnson of the Windsor Press were born in Sydney in 1897 and 1900 respectively. The two brothers were in Canada when war broke out and served with the Canadian forces in France. After the war they established the Windsor Press in San Francisco, 1924, James t…he typographer, pressman, and sometimes author; Cecil, formerly an engineer, is the business manager. Both are authorities on typography and printing. in 1934 the Press received an order for their complete works from the National Library Peking, China. It is one of the presses of the California School of printing, its forte being small gem like books. Slim quarto, original quarter cloth, frontispiece, photo plates; extremities of boards show slight wear, nonetheless a very good copy from the Ingleton collection.
