Comprende uno scritto del De Frenzi su I Libri inutili (recensioni…a novità librarie del 1909; fra gli autori recensiti con altalenante giudizio spiccano Ojetti, Beltramelli, Cicognani, Von Hofmannsthal, Linati, Gozzano, Onofri, la Guglielminetti, Sem Benelli, Brocchi, Lucio D'Ambra, ecc.) delle noterelle bibliografiche del Lumbroso (fra l'altro sul D'Annunzio di Borgese e sulla Fedra dannunziana) e la novella Il Fakiro dello stesso Lumbroso. Il Lumbroso (Torino, 1872-ivi, 1942), direttore della Rivista di Roma e fondatore della Revue Napoléonienne, fu illustre storico del nostro Risorgimento, del Primo Impero francese e delle origini politico-diplomatiche della Prima Guerra Mondiale, nonché biografo della Regina Elena. Giulio De Frenzi è, curiosamente, lo pseudonimo usato nella sua attività letteraria da Luigi Federzoni (Bologna, 1878-Roma, 1967) che, per quanto più celebre come uomo politico durante il periodo fascista (fu tra l'altro Presidente del Senato e Ministro dell'Interno), svolse anche intensa attività di giornalista e scrittore. Condannato a morte in contumacia nel 1944 dal tribunale fascista di Verona, nel 1945 venne condannato all'ergastolo dall'Alta corte di giustizia, ma fu amnistiato nel 1947. Italiano.
