With four double sided colour plates and numerous black and white illustrations by John Schoenherr. All edges gilt. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and firm, with a touch of rubbing to the bottom edge of the upper board and closed text block. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. A special memorial edition of Frank Herbert's legendary, multi-award winning space opera 'Dune'. Including personal remembrances of Herbert and his work from a number of celebrated science fiction authors including Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov, Harlan Ellison, Philip José Farmer and Jack Vance. The Dune series formed the basis for the 1984 cult classic 'Dune' directed by David Lynch and starring Kyle MacLachlan and Patrick Stewart, and more recently 'Dune' (2021) and 'Dune: Part Two' (2024), directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya.
