The February 1982 issue of the US edition of Geo magazine (Vol 4, No. 2), with: Sri Lanka photographed by Bruno Barbey; a profile of the artist Frederick Hundertwasser at his New Zealand hut, photographed by Gerd Ludwig; DNA photographed by Erich Hartmann; the Klamath wildlife refuge photographed by Frans Lanting; Scotland photographed by Patrick Ward; interview with Dr. Robert Jastrow; dwarf mongooses; a skiing marathon in Switzerland; Greenland; photographs and quotes from rodeo participants; and more. Geo was launched in the US in 1979 as a general interest magazine, following successful versions of the magazine in Germany and France. It is best known as a showcase of excellent photojournalism and for its in-depth writing. It ceased publication in the US in 1985. Edited by Paige Rense.
