    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Frederick Eltze (illustrator). 1st Edition. Folio volume in its original blue cloth binding with beveled edges and gilt lettering & ornamentation; all edges gilt. The lettering & illustration on the title page are hand-colored as is the frontispiece illustration; the rest are full-page B&W illustrations. There are pages of verse along with lined pages allowing one to note one's favorite king, virtue, name, play, etc. On the "Favourite King" page is a mounted, mid-19th century photograph. Condition: spine ends are nicked with minor fraying and a small, 1-inch tear to the bottom of the outer front hinge. The corners of the binding show minor bumping and are rubbed through; minor soiling to binding. The front inner hinge is starting; otherwise, a very good copy with no writing on the lined pages. Unpaginated.
