Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Dust Jacket. New Edition; Third Printing. Third printing of the 1990 edition. Bound in what is apparently full elephant hide paper (simulating vellum) decorated in gilt, metallic silver and red on the front boards with a clever design of the 'One Ring' encapsulating the 9 rings for mortal men surrounding the three concentric elvish rings surrounding 7 interlinked dwarvish rings. There are couple of very light pale tan (splash? ) marks on the spines, but not 100% sure they are marks as the paper is flecked like vellum anyway - they are pretty negligible and only really seen close to. Front and back covers immaculate. Illustrations are as the original 1977 Folio edition by Ingahlid Grathmer and drawn by Eric Fraser. The books feature a top edge dyed red and red metallic lettering to the spines. Housed in original gilt lettered crimson, paper covered, stiff card slipcase , which shows only very minor storage wear. No damage, VG corners. Internally FINE with No Inscriptions or marks. Overall this is a very bright, clean set of this iconic work. This set is overweight and will likely require extra postage depending on your location. Please check with seller if unsure. Fawn endpapers, xli 362 pp with 39 black and white illustrations and six vignettes. Together with an additional complete suite of illustrations 19 x 28.5 cm tied in a green ribbon and contained within a cloth chemise with a paste down image echoing that on the book.
