Edges toned; some foxing to initial and rear leaves; soiling scattered throughout both volumes. Several stress points to both volumes' bindings causing some pulled quires and some sag to the text blocks. B/w photographs throughout both volumes documenting the efforts and activities of American troops in Europe during World War I. SECTION ONE: [2], 1-240 pages with initial unpaged leaf recto noting set "is registered in the name of Capt. F.T. Parker" [Captain Frederic T. Parker] who military service inclusive to 1936 included commander of Company 3463 Civilian Conservation Corps, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee and assignment to the 36th Field Artillery; opening essay "The Declaration of Americanism" by Woodrow Wilson on pages 11-13 followed by "The Commander-in-Chief General John J. Pershing Accounts for his Stewardship" on pages 14-43. SECTION TWO: paged as 241-496; text concludes with Pronouncing Vocabulary of War Names and Bibliography. Both volume's copyright pages specify dates as 1934, 1935, and 1936 but latter date must be most accurate due to aforementioned Captain Parker registration.
