Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Good-. Douglas Maxted (dust jacket design) (illustrator). First Edition. 8vo. Pp. [10], 11-238. Illustrated with black-and-white photography throughout. Endpaper maps. Bound in cream cloth with brown lettering stamped on spine. A bright copy in the illustrated dust jacket that shows fading to spine, edge-wear, notably with chips at head and tail of spine, and old, small tape repairs on verso. A fourth-generation Australian and nurse, de Grys conveys her quotidian and professional experiences in a remote La Grange, on the Indian Ocean in Western Australia. The dust jacket illustration by Douglas Maxted showing happy natives is stylistically charming, albeit culturally insensitive. Dust jacket is now housed in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
