Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate shelf wear with bumping and fraying to corners and crushing, fraying and tearing to spine ends and edges. Gilt lettering remains bright and clear.

In overall good used condition with minor signs of age, handling and storage - blue cloth boards slightly tanned to spine with short split to front spine-fold at spine head. Internally clean. Binding tight; no annotation or inscriptions - Bancroft School With Compliments Slip loosely inserted; tanning and a little spotting to page-ends and prelims but text and illustrations bright and clear throughout. Not an old library book.

Bound in full dark blue leather, gilt lettering and lining to somewhat faded spine, lining and gilt embossed Arms of the Drapers' Company to upper board, top edges gilt. Previous owner's bookplate (Richard Summers) bookplate to page preceding frontispiece, some foxing to page edges, otherwise a handsome copy.

Privately published, Woodford, 1937, 1st edition. Blue cloth boards, gilt lettering to spine and front board, no dustwrapper. 10ins x 7.5ins, xv, (i), 198pp plus colour frontis and 13pp plates. Also 5 illustrations within the text. The story of the school founded by the Drapers Company, first in Mile End and then moving to Woodford Green. VG.

Condition: VG+. 1st Edition. 150 x 210 mm 24 page stapled booklet in green pictorial card covers. Price sticker on front cover. Book is in very good plus condition with very minor signs of wear and/or age.

Illustrated in colour and black and white throughout. Including a four page off-print from the Bancroftian, loosely inserted. Very good indeed in somewhat used and tanned, very good minus dust jacket, with some nicking at edges.
