rigide.

// Four 12o volumes (16,7 x 10,3 cm), fawn speckled calf, spine tooled raised on five bands, red morocco label, piece of arms between the bands ("alérions"), triple fillet border on covers, central coat of arms, fillet on turns-in, red sprinkled edges (contemporary binding). Portrait of the author engraved by P. Chenu. First edition of the works of Charles-François Pannard, or Panard, (Courville-sur-Eure 1689 - Paris 1765), french prolific writer, poet, chansonnier, dramatist, and goguette writer. Considered as one of the propagators of vaudeville and song in France. Marmontel gave him the name "La Fontaine of vaudeville". Pannard, just like Jean de La Fontaine, didn't care about his financial situation ; he lived and died a poor man. He wrote more than 80 plays, which more famous are : Le Tour de Carnaval, Les Acteurs déplacés, Les Fêtes sincères, Le Fleuve Scamandre, Zéphir et Fleurette (Firmin Didot Frères, Nouvelle biographie générale, 39, 125). (OLIVIER, plate 810, 2). Bookplate La Rochefoucauld duc de Bisaccia. (Some pages are inverted at beginning of vol. 1, some defects of use, lack of leather on top of spine vol. 1 and 4, some spots).
