Detailed study of reports on the settlement in Western Australia and the Swan River people and their land. Includes: 'Oral Tradition of Settlers' arrival', 'Land Inheritance', 'Yagan killed', 'Rottnest Island Prison'. "Many of the early colonists discovered the land was owned by Aboriginal people and was forcibly being taken from them. Their reactions to this deepening reaslisation and the records of disruption to the lives of the original landowners fill the pages of this book.".
