Near fine plus, if not fine hardback in very good plus plus, if not near fine dust jacket ($6.00). Dust jacket has a 1 inch closed tear and a number of light, if not very light hairline creases along bottom edge of front panel at spine and to heel of spine: the longest being 3.5 inches; a 5/8 inch by 3/8 inch chip to heel of spine; a 1/2 inch closed tear and an associated 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch triangular chip to top edge of front panel; and minor, if not trivial additional wear to corners, edges and extremities, Only trivial additional signs of age/wear/previous use to book and dust jacket. Appears to be inscribed by author on front free endpaper: "Dear XXXX: This first copy belongs to you. There would be no book had you not criticized it, arranged for me to write it, and encouraged me through the many months the manuscript was in preparation.
