The plates reproduce superbly-made antique saddles, stirrups, spurs and whips preserved in some of the great private collections, notably Darío A. Anasagasti. The text was originally published as part of Publicaciones Museo Etnográfico, Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, serie A, IV, 141 y siguientes . The author, Justo P. Sáenz (hijo), 1892-1970, was a well-known Argentine folklore historian and novelist.
