Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the diverse water resources found within the Philadelphia district and goes into detail on the rainfall, streams, and water power of the area. The author provides a detailed examination of how these water sources have been historically utilized to support Philadelphia and its surrounding region. The book is an in-depth look at the geological, historical, and modern usage of the area's water resources. Along with providing historical context, the author discusses in detail both how the region's water and terrain have been shaped by geological processes over time and how the water resources of Philadelphia have been put to use through various canals, waterways, and aqueducts throughout the region's history. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book examines the ancient volcanic rocks found in the South Mountain range of Pennsylvania. The author's findings challenge previous assumptions about their nature and age, identifying them as volcanic in origin and placing their formation in the early Paleozoic era. Through detailed analysis of the rocks' petrography and structure, the author argues that these volcanic formations underwent significant changes over time, including devitrification, which altered their original glassy texture. The book provides a valuable contribution to the understanding of the geological history of the region and the nature of ancient volcanic activity. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
