Neat ink gift inscription dated 1943 to foot of front pastedown and ink initials in margins of Contents page. Very light foxing to prelims and endpapers. Two faint crayon letters to rear board and a few spots, edges of boards rubbed in places and corners a little bumped. Overall a Good+ bright copy. Publisher's quarter tan cloth, pictorial paper over boards. Advertisements to rear. Light spotting to preliminaries. Front flyleaf cancelled. Gift inscription in red ink to front pastedown, dated 1959. Rear hinge starting. Toning to boards with some gentle staining, mostly to lower. Minor fabric split to spine. Still stable overall, and very good. Flight was essential to the popularisation of the linocut, using the medium as a pleasing vessel for his cubist and abstract ideas. Practically a linocut bible, with input and examples from a master of the craft.
