All edges gilt. The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám is the title that Edward FitzGerald gave to his 1859 translation from Persian to English of a selection of quatrains (rubaiyat) attributed to Omar Khayyam (1048-1131), dubbed "the Astronomer-Poet of Persia". There is a thin split of about 3/8" to the leather on the top of the front spine edge. The contents are tight and clean and the original marker ribbon is present.
