Tanto es así que estamos asistiendo a un auténtico «giro neurocéntrico», más aún, al nacimiento de la «era de la neurociencia» en la que se consolidan nuevas disciplinas que llevan el prefijo neuro-. Este colectivo pretende examinar desde una perspectiva crítica el avance y los beneficios que aportan las neurociencias en los campos de la ética, la política, la economía y la educación. El objetivo consiste en ahondar en las nuevas posibilidades que ofrecen las neurociencias sin caer en un reduccionismo cientificista. De esta manera, las contribuciones, tanto nacionales como internacionales, que componen este libro buscan ofrecer un conocimiento capaz de fomentar un diálogo interdisciplinar que integre los avances ofrecidos por las neurociencias en la filosofía práctica.
