F.Lyde Caunter was a great advocate for Cornish tin and wolfram, a governor of the Camborne School of Mines, well known in the legal profession around Liskeard , a keen shark fisherman and resident of Looe. As an aspiring athlete he was afflicted with polio but recovered sufficiently to lead a full and inspiring life. The book is in excellent condition in a very good unclipped dustjacket with no inscriptions. Undated but believed to have been published in 1957. Size - 224mm. x 142mm.(8vo.). Pp.168.

In addition to practicing as a solicitor in the Liskeard and Looe area, Caunter took a lifelong interest in the Cornish mining industry. He was President of the Cornish Mining Development Association and a governor of Camborne School of Mines, situated at Camborne in Cornwall, as well as serving as Vice-Chairman of the Cornish Tin-Mining Advisory Committee (founded in 1939). Ex- county library with label and stamp. Overall good but with bumped corners, tight binding, pages aged toned. Size - 223mm. x 145mm.(8vo.). Pp.56.
