Printed in Frankfurt and bound in Darmstadt, Germany. 11 x 7.25 inches. Cinnamon cloth boards with gilt stamped lettering to the front, back and spine. Generally unbumped spine head and tail…and with very gently bumped upper corners. Text block firmly bound in. 251 numbered pages. With 26 full-page color plates showing calligraphy-inspired typefaces, a tipped-in color plate, and numerous B&W figures. Slight page waviness. Technically ex library but with only a few very tiny ex lib stamps on the rear pastedown. Else an immensely clean copy. Gently read if read at all. A Very Good Plus copy. This publication was printed to mark the occasion of Hermann Zapf's fifty years in alphabet design. Weight 1 lb. 14 oz.
